Presented in the MMCA's Asia Project in 2020, this work looks at the blurred boundaries of
queerness and gender through shamanism. Dew Kim reclaims the terms Western observers
once used to disparage North Asian shamanic practice, turning them back on the religion
those observers brought with them and on the binaries it installed—good and evil, heaven
and hell, subject and object.
